How We Grade and Describe What We Sell

Buyers in this industry are sceptical for good reason. The surplus market has a reputation problem. This is how we work to be different.

Our Condition Grades

GradeDefinition
New / NOS (New Old Stock)Procured for a project but never installed. Original packaging intact. No use whatsoever.
New — Open BoxConfirmed unused, but original packaging has been opened for inspection or photography.
Surplus — TestedPreviously installed; recovered in working condition; function-tested before despatch where the equipment type allows.
Surplus — As RemovedRecovered from a working installation; sold honestly with its operational history disclosed.
For Parts / RepairItem is not in service-ready condition; sold for component recovery or refurbishment only.

What We Inspect Before Listing

  • OEM nameplate, serial number, and part number — verified against the original datasheet
  • Physical condition — corrosion, impact damage, missing components
  • Original certification documents (IECEx, ATEX, FM, calibration certificates) — provided where received with the surplus equipment. Availability of original documentation varies by item and is stated on each product listing.
  • Provenance — where did it come from, when, and under what circumstances
  • Functional test where the equipment type and our facilities allow
Important — Read Before Inquiring
  • We do not offer OEM warranty. Manufacturer warranty does not transfer with surplus equipment.
  • We do not certify equipment for installation. The buyer is responsible for verifying that any item is fit for the buyer's installation, environment, and regulatory requirements.
  • We do not modify or relabel equipment. What you receive is what we sourced.
  • We do not guarantee compliance with the buyer's local standards. Hazardous-area certifications (ATEX, IECEx, FM) are the buyer's responsibility to validate against their site requirements.
  • We do not test all items. Due to limited in-house testing resources, where functional testing is not possible, items are listed based on visual inspection and provenance only. If a buyer requires independent testing or third-party inspection prior to purchase, we are happy to assist in coordinating this at the buyer's expense.
